| This film is somewhat the opposite of "Sin City". Sin City is a movie liked by all and made me feel stupid for not liking. Sky Captain is the opposite I suppose, despised by all and made me feel immature taste for it. But the movie is too good not to, sorry guys. Gives the film great atmosphere oldest comic books, and makes it perfectly using flight funny looking evil robots, laser guns strange, and comic book-like dialogue. And it was the first time I said to myself "wow, Angelina Jolie is a really good actress." She is nothing like his movies Boob-flashing. And the story? For me, a story is good, provided it is not boring. And this is a comic-book adaptation, it was meant to be silly, and not bother me at all because it was busy enjoying the movie. If U're a rigid businessman with no hint of imagination of the child and whether or even hated Star Wars saying "hey, this can not happen in real life," and certainly do not see this movie. If U're a fan of comic books, watch and love. He has a great atmosphere, great visual effects, and it's exciting. And it's fun to watch. |
| This film is a fantastic smörgåsbord of images beautifully made for lovers of 1930/1940s of science fiction. It's everything you could expect ... armies of giant flying robots to shake the ground when walking. A huge rocket, a P-40 that can fly low and in the air, ray-guns, flying aircraft and transportation are all just a few of the many imaginative deals in the store. Oh and it even has a well-thought plot and humor to boot. If I had to say something negative, I wish would be that the film was already known that when we go to see the likes again. If you love classic sci-fi movies and the 40s can not go wrong with this visual masterpiece is a modern film treasure. |
| I came in at the tail end of the Saturday afternoon series, but I did see many of them in the early days of television. Most of them were better than this movie. Granted the special f / x for this were a "little" better than the old series, but the muted colors and soft focus (actually I have a headache trying to put the image into focus until I realized that no it was me, but that the film was diffuse), the lack of a decent story (which could have been much better), bad dialogue and some of the worst acting I've seen in a movie in a long time I am delighted that only the prices paid to see the evening. The only thing that saved this from being a negative number was the performance of Ms. Jolie. She plays her role very well and she alone gave the film a 9 rating, too bad everything else is dragged down. |
| I had not read about the film before and was fascinated to see that in the early minutes and still enjoy it until the end. This film's unique look and feel is their primary vehicle. If you're looking for a sophisticated argument, this movie was not made for you. The plot and action were sufficient to avoid ruining the visual image. Manufacturers use a comic book feel to the film that allowed the edges and soft sepia tones, with both the animation and character sets humans. If a package does not look completely realistic, the viewer is not disturbed because the package is consistent with everything you see in the film. Anyone who has never edited video or worked with the animation would have to appreciate visual art and the quality of this movie. Otherwise, it contains a decent story that would be worth seeing at least once. |
| Wow, what an amazing visual film. Being someone who loves the cinema and art in general, I purchased this movie quickly after hearing about it. I was not disappointed, with the exception of history that was so-so. Almost the entire film is computerized and has an almost painting-like look to it. In fact, many scenes seem that Edward Hopper painted them. However, it is a live action film with real actors whose faces are not altered, except that Gywneth Paltrow's hair becomes more brilliant and blondish. Story-wise, is nothing special, just an old-time series tawdry history of people using high-tech robots and spacecraft to take on the planet. The period of time, however, predates the Second World War so that this kind of futuristic robot is a bit of a stretch. However, it is strictly an old science fiction short story and profanity, with the exception of the robots, a great retro look. Returning to "watch", this movie is still very worth seeing because it's absolutely amazing to see. It's not really anything like that. Sorry we do not do well at the box office, as it does not encourage others to do more of these inventive visual-type movies. This must go beyond an incredibly expensive plasma TV! Also notable is the sound. The best sound system you have, the more you will be blown away with the audio here. It's as good as the pictures. If only the story was so good! |
