Camden College. Sean Bateman (James Van Der Beek) is the younger brother of depraved Wall Street broker Patrick Bateman. He's also a drug dealer who owes a lot of money to 'fellow' dealer Rupert Guest (Clifton Collins, Jr.), as well as a well-known womanizer, for he sleeps with nearly half of the female population on campus. Lauren Hynde (Shannyn Sossamon) is, technically, a virgin. She's saving herself for her shallow boyfriend, Victor Johnson (Kip Pardue), who's left the States to backpack across Europe. Her slutty roommate, Lara (Jessica Biel), has the hots for Victor as well. Paul Denton (Ian Somerhalder), who used to date Lauren, is openly bisexual and attracted to Mitchell Allen (Thomas Ian Nicholas), who's dating Candice (Clare Kramer) to prove to Paul that he's not gay. Sean loves Lauren. Paul loves Sean. And Lauren may love Sean.

Why James Van Der Beek was released, I do not know! For me, that ruined everything that could have been a good distance on this movie! Seriously, do not waste time. They gave me 2 in my vote, simply because there is a good film.

I have to say this is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I think perhaps the big-wigs at Lion's Head a bit lost his mark in advertising for this movie, directed the trailors a young "in search of a teen/20 somethings" multitude of films. A few of my friends went to see in the theater and hated "it makes no sense." this movie is for students of film, English major, interested in the social sciences, but for the ads that showed me a love triangle (square? lozenge?) between a few college students, when I saw the preview I thought "this does not is nothing i have not seen before, "which is why it took me so long to see this movie, in fact I would probably never have seen that if my friend had not brought along this afternoon. Immediately I wanted to see again, I wanted the experience of battling the styles of poetry from Sean Paul and again, so different styles, so a crude, one so poignant, I feel pain and sorrow of the cafe girl in the tub (stomach wrenching scene), I see where Fred Savage is in this movie, but unfortunately that is 4 hours and sleep seems more important now. i found Fred tomorrow, and maybe even read the book!

I have not read all users of the comments, but I have read seems to be quite the point of the film. Is an adaptation. Of a book. Not to mention the mystery behind it: Bret Easton Ellis is a brilliant writer, and yet all the film adaptations of powerful suck. Personally, I was laughing all the way through it (except, of course, during the bathtub scene that I thought was fantastic gruesomely in his image). Therefore, even if you did not get, at least it is funny. I was very excited for the addition of Mini-Glamorama, and just to keep everyone on the right track, Sean Bateman is not the college of the American Psycho narrator, and if he was, his name was Patrick Bateman, Christian Bale in the character of the film. Sean Patrick is the younger brother, there was supposed to be a scene where Van Der Beek and called Bale Bale has severed head in his hands at the other end, but the bullet was not available. If you hated it, and it was not for you, just think: You might have seen the NC-17 version. Otherwise, do not call the "superficial" and "emptiness" of the characters or the actors, please, that is not what it was about, and it is not what it purports to the book. Bret Easton Ellis is a genius.
