| Bridget Jones's Diary really gave some laughs, and for that alone gives this movie recommendation, since so few romantic comedies now adays (outside of the classic Woody Allen movie) to deliver laughs WITH corny plot twists. Renee Zellwegger is as charming as it was in Jerry Maguire and Nurse Betty (Nurse Betty even has his best work), as a British woman who has low self-esteem about who drinks, smokes and eats too much, and has trouble stay away from bad boyfriends. In the film, focuses on his relationship with Colin Firfth, an honest British lawyer, Hugh Grant and is a charming scoundrel coniving yet. Some of the film could also be a bit more mainstream for some tastes (sometimes it was for me), but the film offers enough surprises and good feelings (lame for me to say that it is not) needs to be done for a good date movie the rate might not hate with all his being. | Bridget Jones's Diary is a very entertaining and very slight romantic comedy that is well written, well cast and the subtlety humorous from beginning to end. Renée Zellweger captures the character of Bridget very well, quickly allowing the audience to identify with her vulnerability and issues of relationship, and fortunately Hugh Grant and Colin Firth their excellent support along with the rest of the cast. On the down side, I did find some of the scenes a little cringe worthy of support and made me feel that there are not enough laugh out-loud moments. All in all Bridget Jones's Diary is a winner and, although better suited to a female audience, is still enough to entertain most fans of the genre. 7 / 10 |
| If you're looking for the deep meaning and around the world stirring questions, do not come here. However, if you're looking for a couple of hours of light entertainment, then this is the place to look Mrs. Zellwegger acquits itself well in this part of a young English woman who is on the verge of giving everything, but decides make a major make-over with the help of her diary. It is not the heel of a philandering boss (Hugh Grant, his signature on the role of the faltering talker, with his first and UM) and Colin Firth (a favorite of mine). If you do not think much of Firth as a screen personality, then you have not seen the British television long form (6 hours) for the version of Jane Austen "Pride and Prejudice." His image of Mr. Darcy (the same name as her character in The Daily BJ) and is rounded, as one might expect. I enjoyed "Diary" and recommend it for what it is: entertainment without the need for deep reflection. |
| Bridget Jones' agenda is without doubt one of my favorites of all time. Renée Zellweger as Bridget performance is exceptional, his accent is very credible (the best I've seen since Robin Wright in "The Princess Bride." Renee's performance Oscar is certainly worthy!). And Colin Firth aka Mr. Darcy is magnificent, which makes the movie even better. Ha: Comedy and romance, which is my kind of movie. I would say it's the best movie of 2001! Both of the Bridget Jones' books are outstanding, too! Do your for free .. see this movie, you will not regret it! |
| What is it that makes Bridget Jones's Diary for example a movie addictive? Perhaps it is the great combination of wit, reflection, self-analysis, drama, romance and pure hilarious situations. This is the story of Bridget, a British royal with many issues, mainly the weight and related affair. Portrayed by far Renee Zellweger, Bridget is both witty and interesting, to make a film purely enjoyable. First of all, seen this film when it was released in 2001. I have enjoyed thoroughly. Three years later, I gave my second point, and since then I have seen more than 100 times. I honestly can say that this is the only film I can see every day if given the chance. Although it is not the best movie, and perhaps without much depth (if any), Bridget Jones's Diary is addictive and somehow quite enjoyable. Definitely to be a classic, this is a movie that everyone should see at least once, because it is not philosophical or because it makes impressive reviews in society, but simply because it is fantastically entertaining. |
| I can not say I hated this movie at all, although I have a lot of very serious problems with it. Ok, first: I do not think Briget is friendly or sympathetic character. Her romance with Mark seems not only contrived but also lacks the slightest chemical or realism. Their little more than a ridiculous fantasy female who lack something deeper, like real emotion, for example. His head is much more realistic and sympathetic figure - which makes a mistake and has to pay for it again and again. The fact that you do not want to settle and Briget are married, etc, it does so badly. Then men are meant to wait their whole life for the perfect woman, leaving everyone else? Come on. Secondly, it bothers me to an English film to be accepted by America (I as an English class this little movie) seems to have to be boring lovelives only with the upper middle class odious London media types, which amount to less than 0.1% of the population. As an Englishman I do not see anything from the England I know that in this movie, or sliding doors, Notting Hill, etc. Thirdly, the music is gut-wrenchingly terrible. Having said all that, I still do not hate. |
