| This film seems to have multiple personalities. It starts very, very dry, a little too much sense. Then it is heated and hilarious at the center, but suddenly becomes serious in the end, what seems like a completely different movie. A good mockumentary must build to a great climax that leaves me smiling, not depressed. However, I recommend it. The good parts are enough to make the film worthwhile. The private investigator is especially funny, and John Solomon antics of balance perfectly the personality of Grace. I would be excited to see what these filmmakers is the next step. Although a better ending would have moved this movie six stars in eight or nine, there is certainly a bit of talent at work here, and a few more movies under his belt can make the difference. |
| The craft is topnotch, the solid performance, good writing. There are some shrewd observations here and there about life after death and life before death. Like the past killed in return, in the not-ZOMBIE are not just American sense of flesh-eating zombies (there's nothing wrong with regard meat-eating zombies) (see my black and white comic, Cape Fear COMICS, Available from comiXpress, which is dedicated to George A. Romero himself, and see which I speak). The socio-political ramifications of the dead rising from their graves are studied (sometimes hilariously, sometimes more sublimely), but it is the magnificent movie that makes this a worthy of a nice, long look. |
