| I was excited about that now, with CGI, a great epic tale Beowulf, as it could be done successfully in a movie. I will keep waiting for a screenwriter and director responsible to try again. First, I thought there would be more live action / acting. Since this was a nice cast list, I assumed they really act. The phrasing Stilt wall to wall and made sexual advances of this one of the worst scripts I've found and brought to the screen. Beowulf, the great epic is filled with magnificent epic, with greater wealth and kennings alliteration that bring the power and dignity to all the characters. There is no dignity here. Instead, Beowulf was shrouded in shame (and given this script is, unintentionally, the only thing that is right.) Please, people, READ THE BOOK! The only thing that this movie had in common with Beowulf are the names of the characters. Say no to the bastard children, naked mommies of monsters, and lips that do not match the dialog. The only thing that came out of this was true or false test material for my British literature students who think they can get away with watching the movie instead of reading our text. |
