| In my commentary on "The Green Mile," I said that King's novels received mixed treatment in Hollywood. Some books generated average classic films, classic novels and some collapsed in poor movie: Dreamcatcher adaptations. "Dreamcatcher" belongs to the latter category. The book, although it starts very slowly, reaching its pace in the middle and the end becomes one of the best King ever written, like his previous works. But the Dreamcatcher Fantasy starts fast, all in ruins in the middle and the end becomes a mess that nobody can understand if you do not read the novel. I think the main problem is that the novel is too long to fit in a 2 hours movie. But there is the director / writer 's work. Kasdan and failed miserably. The DVD movie Dreamcatcher is full of unnecessary shots to shorten the main theme for example, a chat with friends about the films in their first night in Derry. Too many questions to be answered in this story and the end came in the race and could not get anything right. Jason Lee, however, is impressive. I really did not expect this treatment from him after his typecast role in Almost Famous, Chasing Amy, or Vanilla Sky. Thomas Jane is a bland and disappointing performance as Henry, I would prefer at least for the Keanu Reeves role. Otherwise, it was perfect casting with Morgan Freeman and Tom Sizemore. The story really could make a great Dreamcatcher Fantasy in the hands of good directors. Kasdan is certainly not one of them. |
| This is the first DVD film Dreamcatcher of the hundreds I've seen that I'm commenting on, why ask? .. because I had read the book version of this Dreamcatcher Fantasy film about a year ago and honestly I have no idea how Stephen King could have given the "OK" to this DivX Movie Dreamcatcher (if it was in their control). 1) like all the other screen adaptations of the DVD movie Dreamcatcher had great scenes that are important books that are not even mentioned, resulting in a fragmented history and a frantic place to try to talk about everything. 2) The characters of the DivX Movie Dreamcatcher have no depth, compared to the colorful characters in the book, especially beaver is too superficial, and what is to act on Jonesy being possessed by Mr. Gray, and the same goes for Duddits. No substance, there is unfortunately a feeling I have to give this script two thumbs down, and people buy the book, do not buy the film, like its licking the shells of oysters just ... |
| Whoa! It's not as bad as seeing Pac-Man eating Langoliers reality, but close! My thought is that films based on Stephen King novels are either large or totally suck. My husband had only one comment before he changed the channel. To give an idea of what the rest of the Dreamcatcher Fantasy movie would be like, he thought the scene with animals deplete forests should have ended with one of the animals to the guys in the booth and saying "Run! The Devil Tasmania is coming! "That would have been better if it were a cartoon. We can all try to act intellectual, but the hunter sitting in a booth having philosophical discussions about how one of his memories and pictures as files in a store is, well, boring and strange. I did crack when a man possessed by Mister Gray ran in his mind and ranting (with a British accent, no less) to prove that he was trying to save their memories of the exotic. Also, do not you think the foreigners out of their back is a little "Beavis and Butthead"? |
| SPOILERS! I've seen the DVD movie Dreamcatcher then I read the book. The configuration and the interaction between the friends in the beginning is great, better than the book, in a big way Kasdan type that really works well for this story. Inside the mind of scenes that seem inflatables are made in a clever way every time. Donny Walburg is surprisingly good in this movie. The army of people are pretty bad, but nothing I can not live. CGI monster, but in the end is crazy peep. It is one of the worst monsters of the DVD film Dreamcatcher I've ever seen. Kasdan is a director who never needs to work with special effects. The end is in ruins of another great film. Walburg cried when I Duddits! " CGI monster in the horrible my brother and I laughed out loud in the theater. Then later, when I read the book and discovered that there was no call from the book of a great conflict in the end I was monster floors. If the book has been used up the Dreamcatcher movie could have been really great (as would be appropriate for the boring style Kasdan. |
| This DivX film Dreamcatcher is not nearly as bad as some versions of the DivX film Dreamcatcher King's work. In fact, the CG work was very good. I really liked the high-angle shot of the snow falling to the track of the guys riding through the forest. The type cream to get the car was a wonderful do. Too many people seem unable to face the horror camps and at the same time. I thought this Dreamcatcher Fantasy film was shot pretty well. I do not get up and leave, as I have spent during the trips in the Dreamcatcher Fantasy King stories. It is difficult to draw a King story was well when transposed to the movies, because the King is too deep with your brain. You are the visions of their stories that most directors can not duplicate. Look at the dead zone. Great story, but the Dreamcatcher film blew me to pieces. Why? Because I had this pre-concieved notion of thinking of the characters and the Dreamcatcher Fantasy film did not match well. Probably the people here are bitching that the DivX Movie Dreamcatcher was so bad and have read the book (I) and therefore can not accept the version as a faithful re-telling of the story. But technically, this movie: Dreamcatcher was not as horrible as some 'exotic' I have suffered through images. |
