| I laughed so much through this movie I know will have to see twice because I had to have lost some of the fun parts. Very clean, which was surprising, as it was in Lawrence, but so is worth the time I spent watching. The heart is broken when Beth has to come out of Boog in the woods, but to see them overcome all obstacles thrown in their way, it is very entertaining to the eyes of an animal. Aston Kutcher was hilarious as Eliot. I did not realize it could be so funny and entertaining. I recommend this movie to anyone with children, regardless of age, if you want to spend time with their children in a clean environment. I intend to go back and take my neighbors kids to do well. |
| I saw an advance screening of "Open Season" before tonight (the only advance screening I've been, which began at 6pm, that must've been done to enable children to see and still get home at a decent hour ). I laughed out loud and heart during the hour and a half watching this movie I have in all the comedies I've seen in the past year. The animation is so good that the distraction during some of the nearly UPS (see the skin on Boog the bear and the main star). And all the animals of the forest are fully developed character wise and very funny (especially the "take no nonsense" pair of female skunks). They were cute without being precious. And the script was worthy of Oscar. If you do not love this movie a part of you is dead inside. It's just that good. Summary: There's this bear (Boog), which makes a kind of circus act in a National Park living with a park ranger. Then frees a young deer (Elliot) from the hood of a car hunters (the type beat him and beat him before tying the bell), which follows her home, you cough with a bar of chocolate, giving rise a little b & E at a convenience store where pork on junk food. Through a series of events that so much wind in the forest just as hunting season begins. The animal bond, to hunters and all hell ends well (especially for one of the skunks). Remember how good you thought was The Incredibles, "This movie makes it seem so ho hum is not even funny. And if you do not like it, go out and make your own movie rather than a tear this apart. |
| Open Season is another in a long line of recent animated films that deal with animals on the loose. Like most of Madagascar and coverage before it, is almost enough to make the film more for adult children. Unlike these two examples, however, this film never rises above the pack and is set also as a great movie. There are some really funny parts including a piece dedicated to go to the bathroom in the woods, but ultimately, the movie has just bog in your state there made history. Without a doubt, children will receive a real kick of the animals and their highjinks but I can not see this movie with the actual power of the classics of the genre. |
