| Sir Anthony Hopkins writes, directs and stars in a good old-fashioned "distorted reality" movie. Hopkins plays a screenwriter who is reviewing the script for a Slipstream Comedy movie called "Slipstream" as the Slipstream film was shot. Needless to say, the line between reality and fiction blurs quickly as the characters of the Slipstream Comedy start appearing in his real life, and still reliving the same scenes from different angles. It's nothing we have not seen before in the work of David Lynch and Dennis Potter, but Hopkins holds the trademark action and provides a surprisingly emotional climax. Definitely worth a look if you like this kind of movie, but I did not expect to see in many theaters of art, as well as the serious-houses. |
| Unless student movie: Slipstream geek to do everything, this DVD film Slipstream will not only be a waste of time and money and a great disappointment, but also make you angry beyond belief. There may be a story worth telling somewhere inside, but Hopkins decided to encrypt and hide it under so many seemingly endless chaotic layers of audio and video microcuts random, so the viewer's patience running thin after a very short time. Why choose someone like Hopkins that heavy, difficult and highly unstable as its first draft screenplay, score first and the third DivX film Slipstream can guess by anyones. Perhaps playing with him in his mind for so long to become unrecognizable as what he did, even to himself. The result shows that we do not have enough experience or ability to achieve the desired result. Even more bizarre films Carpenter and Lynch, to name but two Slipstream Comedy movie uncoventional, had a 90% increase coherence, 95% fewer characters and more than 99% flow history. Sir Anthony aiming for the stars, but unfortunately lost by a couple of light years. Please stick to acting in the department that you are a huge and unique that no one should ask more from you, even yourself! |
| Slipstream is a DVD film Slipstream written, directed and financed by Anthony Hopkins. If you've seen the previews know this seems a strange film, but I assure you, is much stranger than the trailers make it seem. It is not for everyone, and any viewer must have a lot of patience to see it. Do not expect your typical Slipstream movie here, and that includes the traditional concept of a plot: The rise of the action, climax, falling action / conclusion. The Slipstream movie turns from one place to another is never much in the way of answers. Toward the top of a man runs out of his car and yell, "We've lost the plot!" In a way, that is exactly what this movie: Slipstream is about, but it is never clear exactly what happens in terms of character, or even what exactly the plot. As a Lynch movie: Slipstream without his signature at which the "real world" is suddenly revealed, the Slipstream movie from barrels in an incredibly weird experiment in cinema. If you are not in experimental films or films that give the questions and no answers, do not see it, DO NOT ENJOY IT. Even if you're in art films or films of David Lynch, there is no guarantee that you like, but I suggest you give it a rental. If you invest much time on it, I think the chance is beginning to take shape and meaning, but we must be patient enough to spend time that is required. Once again, reiterate, if not in the experimental cinema, go east. For those who are rental, but you see it with an open mind. |
