| I have heard others criticize this movie for the campy humor and sometimes outrageous action scenes, but it's one of my favorite movies and I can not recommend too highly. I generally do not like the use of bad mood but that happens all my requirements, but from an objective point of view I am able to see where others can be quickly annoyed with humor and script for this movie. He could be more convincing, but the story itself is not convincing and it is difficult to condemn the movie for that. You have to go into the plot with a willingness to suspend disbelief, but it does not fit in the same medium as films like Joe Dirt as far as humor is concerned. With the exception of some potentially objectionable language I think this movie is a big gamble especially if you need a good laugh. It is also noteworthy that the people I know personally that do not enjoy this movie in which he was more serious with expectations. It is important to bear in mind before they see that the plot does not focus on the action as much as it does humor. I have owned since it came out and rarely do I enjoy a movie more than twice, but this is one I've seen twice a week, sometimes when I have needed cheering up! It is clear that the rent before buying. Orlando Jones and Eddie Griffin both do an incredible job and I can not even imagine what it would be like the Outtakes. That would be something to see! |
| I saw a screening test for this movie in October 2000, and was slightly better than the blurb line 5 that was on the invitation. It is in the style of "Rush Hour" (Brett Ratner is one of the producers in this movie), an action / comedy about the double cross and to whom to trust? " that works, at least I saw the cut unpublished work. Orlando Jones is starting to get some more important roles. |
| I was not expecting a lot from this movie. The trailers were seeing that I remembered quite funny, but I would assume that those are the best parts of Double Take. Anyway, and looked at me, however, did not think it was half bad. There were several parties not included in the trailer that laugh-a-high-funny. Some might be offended by the fact that the character is Griffen (in the film sense) a "coon". Although nowhere near as good as a comedy Blazing saddles, is comparable in some respects. Double-Take could be considered racist, but dazzling as saddles, used racial stereotypes to highlight the stupidity of its existence. Here, instead of black against white, we see that the upper class of African-Americans ashamed of the Sambo stereotype, and therefore do not associate with other African-Americans with lower social status. I'm not sure if this message was intentional in Double Take, but was nevertheless exists. Orlando Jones had a good performance and Griffen was a convincing character (some might say it was over the top, but again I say this is essential). One problem is that the film very suddenly switched gears from a comedy to something serious action / suspense film. I felt the strong emphasis on the latter took his message of moral and comic film minor. Therefore, there were possibilities. They could have hired a few more writers to add in jokes funny. In total, 6 of 10. |
| I really liked this movie, I thought that Orlando Jones and Eddie Griffin did a great job and acting were quite funny, not hilarious, but funny. I thought the plot was very good, if somewhat confusing. As far as comparisons with other films, I would compare to Rush Hour and Blue Streak, with something that is better than Blue Streak, and not as good as Rush Hour. But do not take my word for it, go out and see for himself, I think he likes, but pay attention, it becomes confusing. |
