This film features designed harmoniously as many "new" devices for making movies like the novel by Jane Austen. Although I have not read a novel by Jane Austen-like feel of a strange place during the last night of the gala presentation at Cinefest-I very much enjoyed this movie. I think it will serve as a great conversation piece not only for those attending the film, but film and literature classes. However, it is nowhere near the likes of "Love In Shakesphere" ... The acting in this film was generally good, but not much. Feist offers a good track near the end of the film, which was a pleasant surprise. Robin Swicord does a wonderful job directing his own screenplay.
I'm not a fan of Jane Austen. I have not read any of the books and I've only seen two films based on books. However, I liked "The Jane Austen Book Club" more than any of the films. While it is not especially realistic, the characters are interesting and enjoyable, the acting is good, and is not filled with violence and vulgarity, something that seems difficult to find in the movie theater right now. All the actors are good, but Emily Blunt really stands out. She could end up being a big star. And who knew that actress Maggie Grace is a real and not just the bimbo who plays on "Lost." "The Jane Austen Fan Club" is not a masterpiece, and you can probably expect to see in the video, but with the poor variety available now in theaters, is the best thing now.
Jane Austin Book Club is half a good movie. I like Jane Austen and I wanted to like this movie. There was a good performance. It had more character development that you see in most films. And I personally like movies with a lot of talk. The problem is that of the six members of the club's books, three were Unlike. Allegra is a hedonistic, self-centered woman who has trouble maintaining long-term relationships. Bernadette is a supercilious know-it-all. And Prudie, the club's most troublesome member, is so neurotic and so disoriented that WinCE each time you open your mouth. If we are going to put a neurotic main character in a movie, he or she has to be at least charming and attractive enough to compensate for mental problems (OK, she is really nice, but not sufficient). In a cast, simply does not work to have Unlike so many characters. Another big problem I had with the film is that the end is the right of women to the land of fantasy. No way this is going to happen in the real world ... Am I right? However, most of the fans Jane Austen, probably like the movie and I'd recommend them because of the numerous references to his novels.
