A sculptor of wax figures for a museum is horrified when his partner proposes setting fire to the unpopular museum in order to collect the insurance money. As the wax figures melt amid the blaze, the two men have a fight. The sculptor is knocked out in the scuffle and left to 'perish' among the flames. He resurfaces many years later for the launch of his own wax museum. The opening coincides with the sudden disappearance of some dead bodies from the city morgue. His assistant begins to suspect his boss of foul play, especially after the deranged wizard of wax begins eyeing his assistant's lovely girlfriend's friend as a model for a waxed figure of Marie Antoinette.

"House of Wax" has some decent scares and depth bloody scenes of death. The wax people trick is used quite resourcefully in a couple of scenes. Cuthbert is good and screaming and looking vulnerable. The fact that "House of Wax" is as decent exit does not say as much for the movie as it does for the sorry state of the overcrowded son genre.However Slasher Flick, despite a slow and sometimes annoying first half of the House of Wax suddenly explodes with violence and gore around the time the first child disappears. Sure enough, it was not long before fingers are being cut with bolt-cutters, mouths are super glued and Achilles tendons are being broken. There's also a great scene with a cinema full of wax dummies watching What happened to Baby Jane? The film is so bloody and violent that it is really difficult to understand how he escaped a certificate 18. In any case, the House of Wax delivers very well at the required level of blows and screams and definitely worth seeing for its impressive final. Recommended.

Even with the fantastic set design to make the whole house of wax in the movie is a typical horror classic remake of Tobe Hooper as the 1974 classic Texas Chainsaw Massacre renewed later, despite the creativity and thus to ensure that serving the film remains just an image Gore.
