Porter is a small time but tough criminal, who's primary gig, is robbery. Now his friend Val Resnick needs $130,000 to pay back a criminal group known as 'The Outfit'. He tells Porter about some Asian couriers who carry $300,000, Porter agrees to it on the condition that they split the take. When they hit them, they discover that they only have $140,000, and Resnick says that, that's what they always carry. He pulls out a gun and shoots Porter in the back and leaves him to die. However, Porter manages to make it to a doctor, and get treated, when he recovers, he sets out to get Resnick and his share $70,000. He begins by approaching an associate of Resnick's. Porter then seeks out a prostitute named Rosie, whom he knew, she tells him where he can find Resnick, when he does he tells Resnick that he should go to his employers and ask them to give him back $70,000 of the money he gave them, Resnick says that's impossible but Porter 'convinces' him to do it. Resnick then goes to his boss, Mr. Carter, who tells him that it's in their best interest to help Resnick deal with Porter. Carter orders one of his men to take Porter out but Porter's just too good for them. Resnick then asks his girlfriend who knows the people whom he and Porter stole the money from, and tells her to tell them where they can find him. When they do they are interrupted by two policemen, but they are crooked who are under the impression that Porter's going after $200,000-300,000 and are going to get it. Can Porter deal with all these people and still get his money.

I'ts not often one comes along that the film has a great script, great acting and a good soundtrack, but it has all the benefits these.Mel Gibson plays a guy who has been booted by the tune of $ 70,000 and this is the violent story of how he circumvented to get back.The film takes you on a trip where they travel many twists and turns and you meet a lot of great personalities on the road, most of whom end up dead. Mel Gibson is trying its best to be unpleasant but can not help but like him. He could play Jack the Ripper and still end up liking him! In any case this movie capture as soon as possible. 9 out of 10

Well, I can summarize the experience of film in just a small statement, "is not the worst film that he had ever seen." I getting tired of films marketed to look like something redeeming qualities. MEL besides, this film has very little in that. the plot is thin (to confuse the bad guy kill the bad guy) the cast was full of misfits and losers. plus one on the line this movie become tedious. I'm sorry it was not a very good thought movie. From the male perspective, there are two very good girls (Ally McBeal girl, and the wife of the way. stern) and a lot of things flying and crashing, so from that point of view that was not a complete disappoint. Basically, Mel Gibson is a bad ass, do not mess with him and you live, mess with it and you die! Indeed Anybody else notice this film was very, very VERY BLUE. if you have nothing better to do next week go to the theater and see Rushmore. Or if you have to keep going and see this movie with some friends, all the talk of the way through it, and annoy the people sitting next to you.

It has its moments, but suffers from Mel Gibson to be issued in noirish bad. Gibson Do you like what you cut lots of slack, but basically it is just bad casting. The theme of the film, if you can have a say, is pain. Lots and lots of pain. Then more pain. There were a couple of scenes that had the audience cringing and going "Eeeeeuuuuwww!" If you're even a little apprehensive, avoid this one. 5 out of 10.

ROI directed by Brian Helgeland is a classic "film noir" in the tradition of urban "gangster movies" and Mel Gibson is setting an excellent performance as Porter - the evil that is only slightly better than the rest of the gangsters, hoodlums, thieves and scoundrels who met in the film. "Satisfaction" is a great movie in this genre. Donald E. Westlake, who wrote the novel on which the movie is based, has recovered the thread of Raymond Chandler and Dashiel Hammett to create a real universe with "real" characters, and Brian Helgeland has been able to bring this universe to the screen. Everything about this movie is great - the script, the casting, direction and soundtrack. This movie is like Sergio Leone "The good, the bad and the ugly" and if you have seen "The Maltese Falcon" starring Bogart, you should see "Satisfaction".

What is the lure of profits? Simple: Our hero, Porter (Mel Gibson) is a lowlife himself. In one of the film footage of the first, not above choking and robbing a homeless man for about measely dollars, but it is ultimately a saint by the sea of scumbags that is beset by during their search to recover the theft of $ 70,000 that nearly cost him his life. The cops, his best friend / worst enemy Val Resnick (Gregg Henry is incredible as this sketchball, however, hillarious at the time, back-stabber who can only taste the love to hate him), Stegman, the coward, self-serving, Bookie / distributor of heroin, the set / crime organization itself, with its trinity of the heads (Carter, Fairfax, and Bronson) who refuse to take seriously Porter until it is too late. Mel Gibson has played the Conference of the Parties to the cinema for so many years finally plays the thief. In this movie, Mel plays a thief named Porter stone cold and when your best friend and his wife drugged him to stab in the back to get his friend back in the union .... Porter fights. I like this movie because they flowed from one extreme to another, Porter goes after the lower level before going Resnick left after Carter the man before going after the head Honcho Bronson. Shirts and an incredible performance Lucy Liu was watchable from start to finish. The most fun was the lord of the Fairfax played by the uncredited James Coburn. Just watching it act as a peacemaker almost made me forget the fact that he was head of a mafia 'right hand guy. "All this over 70 thousand? My dresses are better than that!" Great movie with a great cast and very nice. 8 out of 10
