| That is the only positive thing I can say about this movie. Cleveland is the star, I've been there and never saw the city look this good. Beautiful river and urban landscapes. This film is progressing at a pace so I hope that you will not notice the lack of real-world relevance. People running and firing guns without any result. For example, there is a firefight in the Rob Lowe character of the house and two cars were stolen, but police are not there until much later in the film. Murder of rent never seemed so plausible. Whoever wrote this movie should be on the receiving end of one of the countless films of bullets. Many of the actors in this movie are so much better than this. I checked the date of the movie just to make sure it was written during the writers' strike, but unfortunately this was not the case. This film is currently in rotation on the Universal HD channel unless you want to drool over Lowe there is no reason to see it. |
| Sorry, but to put this thing together? This is a very sad example of something. Um, could it be nepotism? I do not know. It's hard to imagine anyone putting money behind a production so low, incredibly inept Calibur. I am just shocked that this movie was made. | "Near" talks about a convict (Lowe), who thinks the prison staff is out to kill him. This is a very common action movie / drama with a weak plot, stereotypes, underdeveloped characters, and a performance by a dimension Lowe. A forgettable movie does not deserve further comment. |

I had a gut feeling his character was going to be popular for all the wrong reasons, such as Tobias in the first round of OZ, but the proximity `t is not that kind of movie, it` s more like a "man on the run" The film as a fugitive. | I missed the first half hour of this, while watching something else on cable. No one has yet reported on it, so here's what you can contribute. The movie is certainly better than the average for its genre, which is significantly higher with heavy garbage. The story-line is certainly imaginative, well enough to escape from the same old-same-old. It is no surprise to anyone that James Coburn did not become a better player during his absence from the screen, but was not badly cast in their roles. Overall, a watchable film. With 20 odd choices in my digital cable, which is seen in at least the 95th percentile, which makes about *** of five. |
