| What happened to the evil stone Ollie? I can not admit that re-construct the story of a great leader like Alexander is not easy for a modern filmmaker. However, Oliver Stone seems to be very self-confident in this matter ... and I trusted him. Well, the film started with a terrible snake exhibit. Plutach tells us that Olympia, mother of Alexander, was a lover of snakes, as they followed the Orphic doctrines. But this does not mean that leads us into a zoo. Alexander, as a young prince, is weak and ridiculous. No wonder: it is surrounded by these horrible pictures we can imagine their nights are obsessed with the nightmares. As a matter of fact ... that the dreams of snakes, always. Please tell me if you want a historical movie, except me psycho-history ... I'd like to see better Hithcock PSYCHOANALYTIC of the place. If you want to give me an entertaining movie, Troy me back. Because Alexander is intolerably dull. Hopkins and Plummer kept silent, please give me some pictures and interesting. But the worst of all was the fight against Poros, with all that ... lysergic acid red? I'd like to save Jared Leto, who at least is not laughable, despite their marked up (why no one told the stone that homosexual HATED Greek make-up?). But from a global point of view, the film is a complete fiasco. |
| I have seen films of historical figures that were bad, but Oliver Stones' Alexander is the worst. The film lacks a lot of material from the historic Alexander; also added that I ever heard before. His pregnant wife? Renouncing it in India? Stone was only trying to earn money by putting some special effects and a good cast in a very bad history? Did you care to read about the great general and military strategist Alexander era? Or the fact that Alexander has not demolished what they won, but did more, like the library of Alexandria? The film has as many as a whole. Do not show his conquest of Egypt or the unification of Macedonia and Greece under a leader. I am very sorry I rented the movie. Please Stone, do not ruin the story. |
| This film, without a shadow of doubt, is the best and most entertaining movie of the year. The bad reviews I have read are absurd. I will admit that the performance could have been a little better, but not out of any movie. The excellent graphics, unique camera views, and magnificent action make this the best sword and sandal movie I've seen since Braveheart. Oliver Stone approached this movie no different than the rest of their polarization films. I think the reason behind all the harsh criticism and bad reviews is because the critics just want to be different and create the drama, saying only that it was a bust. Ignore the ratings and reviews and go see Alexander, the best movie of 2004! |
