| Well, maybe not that bad. Some moments are touching, others truly heartbreaking. And Jeff Bridges always comes with something surprising. However, "true story" that is, "White Tempest" is clearly overwhelmed by their schematic and Ridley Scott's signature shine. Each crew member has young-stamped a singular flaw, Scott Wolf tomcruisy early is particularly grating, and for all the magnificent scenery of the ocean and blather about children being forged in men, shows us very little from the daily grunt / Teamwork in the center of the whole enterprise. Add to this the largest set of immaculate white shirts and tan, hair torsos met from Abercrombie and Fitch, and potentially a gritty, moving story is found trapped in amber. |
| I totally agree that this is a Dead Poets Society set in the sea. It is a mistake to classify as an action movie. The aim is to promote trust and confidence in the group with a few action scenes. The development of mutual respect between the boys is quite credible acting is excellent in all cases. Jeff Bridges as a fan, I was surprised I never heard of him before he appeared on TV the night. The last exchange in between the captain and his wife are almost as good as they receive. It is not really a great movie but I found it worthwhile as well as a non-fan of action movies. |
| This film for me is unbelievable! Since I like the sea and sailboats much this movie is fair for me to the movie (such as Master and Commander with Russell Crowe) and I think for many others who loves the sea and sailing. This film presents happy and sad history at the same time. I am delighted with characters from children and others, that the connection with the murder and the dolphin was something terrible. The whole world of children has its own big problems and that we can describe the way in which Chuck said: "Some of us are here for discipline, some to escape. And the rest do not even know why. I'm not sure where I fit, but I see a small piece of myself in every one of them. I think I will have friends here, and I hope that this will be home. " Very nice what he said, right? Ohh yes, and sound effects in the movie are excellent, in my opinion. I was enjoying the movie with great pleasure! |
| I would say that "white squall" deserves more credit for what he has when he was released. The image of several young men and their captain (Jeff Bridges) who watches and find a devastating storm, the film that really has. I never get preachy about friendship and never become a stupid action movie is a movie that knows how to tell a story. Another good addition to Ridley Scott from the filmography. And that one scene with the Dutch girl from school ... Hubba Hubba! On the other hand, this movie was my introduction to Ryan Phillippe, who plays one of the young men (although his name does not come into my vocabulary until I saw "I know What You Did Last Summer"). They are also starring John Savage, Jeremy Sisto (Billy in "Six Feet Under"), Ethan Embry and Zeljko Ivanek. Certainly worth seeing. I have to admit, I never want to go sailing. Too many bad things seem to happen. |
| It is no secret that the 90 Ridley Scott is not the best decade. This film is probably destined to be forgotten is his filmography. There are many positive and negative points on the image. Jeff Bridges performance is very good, as is John Savage. Unfortunately, many of the actions of the child vanish into the wood. The story is good, but the norm, and not particularly helped by the fact that it is true. When it comes to the direction of Ridley Scott, however, the film is impeccable. Everything looks spectacular, can be one of the best jobs he has done. That may be enough to recommend the film. 7.0 out of 10 |
