Six New Yorkers have an interrelated series of relationships. TV producer Tommy, who's just broken up with his girlfriend, has a short relationship with commitment-phobe Maria, who he meets in a video store, and also hooks up with married real-estate agent Annie, who he meets while apartment hunting. Annie is open to a relationship because her husband, Griffin, is cheating on her, which she slowly comes to realize through talking to her friend/co-worker who's gone through the same thing. Griffin, a 39-year-old dentist, is cheating with 19-year-old waitress Ashley, who he picked up in a park; she realizes she can do better when Ben, a hotel doorman and aspiring musician, tries to pick her up, in a belated attempt to recover from his divorce a year ago from schoolteacher Maria (the same Maria from the video store). Most of these relationships seem driven more by a desperate need to be in a relationship than actual love.

I am a big fan of Woody Allen film, as Annie Hall, Manhattan and husbands and wives. They ingenuity amalgamate simultaneously with this romance inevitable melancholy that comes with everything. I must admit I have never seen a film by Ed Burns before, nor have I seen acting much earlier, with the exception of Saving Private Ryan. So this is a new adventure for me. It's safe to say, I was very surprised by this film. He has a style and manner similar to that of Allen husbands and wives. Ed Burns is very nice, and has great charisma as an actor. Graheam really proves its worth as an actor in this movie - although I loved her in Boogie Nights and couples as well. Tucci, Murphy and all Krumholtz is formed at the top, too. It is an entertaining piece of cinema, one that does not take itself too seriously, and so walked into the streets of New York. It's fresh, young and accurate, with characters who have shades for them, and not just two-dimensional cut outs. I recommend this movie to everyone.
It is worth seeing! It's funny, romantic, and a good script - New York City dating back to the game and place on the streets of New York, the great fashion by the actresses and actors and Ed Burns' s words and acting are so super! I love the documentary style and narration, 6 people in the city in these interlocking relationships, very captivating, the fund is a great picture with natural light in the city and, of course, the soundtrack to the movie fits very well. I saw this movie many times, the reasons are that the story is very interesting. The interaction between the various characters in their ingenious ways, and also by all the major actors in this film, of course, the handsome Ed Burns, the beautiful Bittany Murphy are the main actors. In one scene, when Ed was having dinner with his date on the film with the background music of the lush life - for example a romantic song Jazz!
Edward Burns, once again, proves that he is an excellent writer and this is a very good movie about the relationships of several people. Each character is well prepared and dialogue is especially good. Burns has the characters looking into the camera and talk about what is happening with them and what it feels like one of his documentaries. I'm not a big fan of this technique, but works well here. Brittany Murphy is very good and shows a great deal of natural charm and Rosario Dawson has an interesting feature. The only part that is not quite ring true is Stanley Tucci as cheating husband. Why mislead anyone about Heather Graham? However, most of its film very well written and all the players are very good. Nothing developed, but very honest. You have to appreciate that for that.
Heather Graham, in one of his best performances, and Dennis Farina as comic relief, providing much of this movie less of the fund. Otherwise, it is a pretty cynical exercise, and the device of having characters speak to an invisible interviewer becomes doubly disturbing by the fact that the characters are banal observations and uninteresting (the device has been used with great effect in French a porn flick Case). I found all the male characters to be completely indifferent, ranging from pathetic (goalkeeper), completely devoid of introspection (Burns), and venal (Tucci). While I am sure that Burns would say that the point was to show how screwed the men may be, I do not think anybody does any favors to the men shown repeatedly stalking and appears unannounced at EXEs flames and apartment / housing . Reinforces that this is something understandable and normal behavior. And, apart from a couple (maybe), these characters are absurd housing given their station in life, unless we are to believe that they all have big trust funds.
