A married couple sail the Pacific Ocean to forget a tragic accident. After a month at sea, they sight a mysterious yacht and are boarded by its lone surviving crew member. When the husband discovers the yacht's terrible secret, the crewman goes wild, kidnapping his wife and taking his ship. Terror on the high seas is center stage as the husband fights to keep the mystery yacht afloat and his wife battles the psychotic who's assumed control of their ship.

I felt really on hold throughout Calma. Sam Neill as the man and Nicole Kidman as the recovery of his wife are totally credible as a grieving parent to take a vacation to spend his later tragedies. Billy Zane as the disrupted third round (see Titanic, head above water) in the ratio was also very effective in his role. The suspense builds throughout and leads to a climax very memorable. Recommended, 7 / 10.

I think this DivX film Dead Calm is very good. Like when I saw for the first time, I think the extra emotion that ends are inserted into unnecessary. Otherwise, the pace, music, acting all combine to solid thriller. Nicole looks different, but almost more amazing then. Revell of the music is wonderful. Zane is a great villain. Sailing seems aware of the first level. Taut, tense, highly recommended.

From the director Phillip Noyce is east of Australia / American thriller "Serenity". The Dead Calm Horror keeps you on the edge of their seat with instructed every direction and solid performances from his cast three members. Sam Neill (who is especially strong) and Nicole Kidman are very good as the young couple who are taking time on his yacht to recover from the devastating loss of his young son in a car accident. Meanwhile, Billy Zane, as the psychotic that rescue from a sinking schooner, is at times quite frightening, and always responsible. Highly recommended for those who seek excitement! After jokingly calling this move "Dead clamshell" for years and years, my wife and I finally saw the damn thing. It's a good movie. The bad points are with two main formulas of the 80 film: the psychotic, inscrutable wrong with absolutely no history tells us again why he is doing the things hes done and a "shock" when he says that ending is bad "back from the dead" Just to be finally sent in some ridiculously ostentatious manner. (Outbreak in the head, anyone?) But the good part was when Sam Neill was lost at sea with night falling fast and Nicole Kidman his piloting of ships in the middle of the Pacific to find it. The desperate loneliness was only by increasing the feeling that with a DivX Movie Dead Calm like this, that not only could find him in time. The music for this part was absolutely marvelous. By Billy Zane is for the absurdity. Although he did indeed do a good job with his character, I must say.
