Where most films of Asterix are iffy, those who remain near the books can not really go wrong. Most of them are fine, but some do not and suffer. This is a combination of at least two books - legionnaires Asterix Asterix and V s Caesar and therefore is not as good as any book, since it has some new elements. But it is not terrible, and much of the ingenuity of the original (s) comes through. The animation is also better and has the depth and shadow in her, although sometimes the colors are very poor. Even the character voices are better than usual - though still Obelix is like a buffoon child! This is a minor complaint but the majority of which is good. | As Bob notes the moo, "Asterix and the surprise of Cesar" (or "Asterix Vs. Caesar" in English) is based on two of the Asterix books. The problem with this DivX Movie Asterix Versus Caesar is that the books in question - "Asterix the Gladiator" and "Asterix the Legionnary" - are two of the best of the lot, and one would have made a good story on its own, but in a DivX Movie Asterix Versus Caesar adaptation as a screenwriter Pierre Tchernia did no good for one, also launched in some odd new material (see the wizard in the sauna Obelix hits a point - an indication that the first is .. um .... Noting that the latter is a bit out of place among heterosexuals severely series). The animation is fine, but nothing to write home about, and the audience to the inhabitants of the small village of indomitable Gauls speak with American accent is distracting (although not as distracting as "Asterix conquers America," the worst of films animated, that our hero was speaking at the Liverpudlian tones of Craig Charles in releasing English).
