| Before you believe all the hype of this movie: Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 to give a chance. It was never intended to be a serious science fiction movie, was not filmed with any message or intent. It was written primarily as a fun, exciting, emotion and humor, sometimes less, and in that sense is very attractive offer. Also, the special effects are amazing (search abused dizzying camera angles and the scene fades.) Am I the only one who liked this movie? |
| I made the foolish mistake of renting this Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 film of pure boredom ... 2 hours later, I'm in the shower washing, as I bathed in toxic waste, longing to have the worst 2 hours of my life back to me. Avoid this Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 Action film at all costs. I've seen so many films that did not even condescend to pirate (and not defending piracy), and this does not even condescend to continue writing about. John Travolta was clearly out of his mind, and although I am the kind of person who would like nothing better than going into a tirade about the Scientology religion Undertones this horrible abortion film, I will refrain and instead urge all which owns the DivX Movie Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 to break the record by half without so much as an afterthought. |
| It is not the best Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 Action in the world, but the field is well on this style of science fiction. Just a bit of fighting spirit, and foreign human freaky, good-looking dark surroundings, although some scenes bad, but a good movie: Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 to rent. | ... But hey, the film: Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 is not bad either. I read L. Ron Hubbard took the weight several times, and is quite possibly the greatest science fiction novels ever written. The problem with the adaptation of the DivX Movie Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 is trying to cram too much (mainly the first half of the novel of 1,000 pages) in two hours - not enough material in the book easily three, even four movies, rather than the (still ?) for two. This is a shame, as evident by Paring the script do not suffer in places - for example in the novel not only his learning Johnnie using the machine, and initially only catch is, because he personally and Terl kept as a virtual "pet." These aspects of the novel, along with several others (there is not enough space here to talk about them) I have been applied in the script. As for the cast, Barry Pepper is good as Johnnie, and Forest Whittaker is always watchable, John Travolta, but it is wonderful as Terl, clearly with a ball as the villainous Chief Security Psychlo. The direction by Roger Christian is very visual and appealing, as is Patrick Tatopoulos excellent production design and costumes. Maybe not a classic film, sure, but not a requirement the impressive amount of criticism he has received. I 8. |
