When a crime is committed on the border of Quebec and Ontario, everyone is forced to come together, whether they want to or not. As the investigation gets underway, we meet David Bouchard and Martin Ward, members of their respective provincial police forces who are forced to work together. The two men couldn't be more different. In fact, the only thing they appear to have in common is that they are both cops, albeit cops with totally different styles.

This is a classic buddy-movie with a police capers twist is completely bilingual, with two drivers (Patrick Huard and Colm Feore), who joined the police on both sides of the border of Quebec and Ontario to solve a murder. As a murder mystery, this Bon Cop, Bad Cop Action movie does not work. The suspense is laughing on the field and strung together to clip the chain and meanders designed to bring more laughs to really move the story. The topic of hockey, of course, is more an excuse to make fun of people like Don Cherry, Gary Bettman and Eric Lindros in the case of a plot. But this DVD movie Bon Cop, Bad Cop is really the right thing when it comes to exploit - and tease - Ontario and Quebec cultural divide. Montrealers we are accustomed to holding talks bilingual, so a bilingual DVD film Bon Cop, Bad Cop is the next logical step. Each and every cliché imaginable finds its way into the present, and the comic timing is perfect. In fact, I was surprised at how much I laughed. The English version of this Bon Cop, Bad Cop Action movie has seen fit to introduce the French subtitles, which is distracting at first until I realized they were really part of the joke. Readers will quickly a good laugh while listening to the French and the translation of reading and comparing the two. Needless to say, are very different, but I suspect that was done that way on purpose. Unfortunately there probably will not find an audience outside of Quebec, which have to be quite up to "get" it. All Montrealers, operate and see this movie!
