| I'm not sure exactly what people expect from this film, but I, for one, came into it without expectations. In other words, do not expect a great view of a factual concern that allegedly took place when they return. Maybe if I were more familiar with the history of the Bell Witch, I would be more inclined to feel differently. But that is not the case, I must say that I liked the movie. I really like this American Haunting, An film a lot and had hold of him. The way was shot just kind of gave him a kind of mysterious feeling, that really adds to the suspense. The players, I thought, has done a great job. And Rachel Hurd-Wood, above all, helped bring the story to another level. I am glad that was not the typical blood and guts horror movie. |
| Look. I was dying to see this movie, because all my friends said that shake the foundation! so I bought the DVD and watched it. (contain spoilers). immediately, I unconsciously began to compare with the exorcism of Emily Rose. Why? well, the first sequence of horror, Betsy is in her bed sheets and removed. then she has a kind of sucks in the middle of the bed. exactly the case with Emily in her film. both were in the same year, so that plagiarized? the effects of this American Haunting, An Mystery film was very cheap, the future and the plot is very thin. the story is very exciting, but the effects of poor performance and degraded. great disappointment. go Emily Rose. 5 / 10 |
| An American Haunting is very scary and suspense ... in every way! One of my favorite movies in a long time. Under the direction of Courtney Solomon, we see the great performance of Donald Sutherland, playing John Bell, Sissy Spacek, who plays Lucy Bell, and the wonderful Rachel Hurd-Wood plays Betsy Bell. I should also mention that support for the actions of James D 'Arcy and Matthew Marsh were also very accurate and also helped to tell this great story. When you have a great history, and this is the most documented history Spirit, you need bring to life and that really did it justice. I do not mean to sound skeptical .... but when I am in Hollywood, I'm not a fan of many projects, I am critical when it comes to entertainment. This will not be the definitive history by saying that all thought they would be. This is the story of a young man who apparently is persecuted and tortured by a ghost, and nobody can stop the alarming attacks. One can not fail to recall the institution and well above the exorcism of Emily Rose, while the DivX film American Haunting, An was too long. The celebration of the mystery is an attempt to be shocking, but it comes as hackneyed. What about modern life BOOKENDS? Both were useless and the induction of laughter. Why can not just be a period piece and leave it at that? How is Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek talked on this project? I am sure we would have these questions and more for all involved, if you waste your time on this. An American Haunting is typical formulas tripe ghost. |
| Therefore, here is the big spoiler ... this girl is raped by her father, so this ghost (or the girl telekinetic demonstrations guess) decides to alert everyone to this shit from the beating of his repeatedly. It makes sense to you? Me either, but that's what happens. Sure, there were a couple parts that make you jump, but nothing really special. You never saw a ghost, so the most frightening part of the DivX Movie American Haunting, An involve wolves. Yes, I said wolves. Quite scared huh? So if you sleep with White Fang lights on for a month, this may be enough for the thriller. and Donald Sutherland is in this! I remember when he made good films (the common people is a brilliant DVD film American Haunting, An if you've never seen). This is definitely a big fall from grace for him. May God have mercy on his soul, and all others associated with this piece of shit. Nuff said. |
| First, I did not know the history of this ghost story, so do not expect anything until after, and I must say that I liked, but I can not admit to being scared. No complaints about the performance. The division really get into it and it was a real pleasure to see Sissy Spacek doing their things as Mama Bell. I thought the story and remained strong despite further comments by saying that it was confusing, I do not think so at all. I also found that the new ending was a reasonable assumption to make - and adolescents Poltergeist phenomenon is well documented. The only complaint I had was the turning around of the camera in most of the scenes of ghosts. It made me quite dizzy. But an inexperienced director and all that. Not a patch on the likes of Sixth Sense, but definitely worth seeing. |
| i saw this DVD movie American Haunting, An because I said it was based on a true story / event and I like it right. i saw him and I was not really interested in the DVD movie American Haunting, An at all. not the fact that it was not afraid or not happening for me i just do not find in any film, so I seemed to see a boring. only the single idea that was finally revealed at the end is why this American Haunting, An movie is two stars. this American Haunting, An Mystery was just a bit of entertainment and that is almost all that was. disappointed because I'm sure it could have been more than it was. |
