| This film moved me. This movie was really intense. After that I saw in hell I do not believe that JCVD could do better than that. (and is a great movie) acting in the hell is the best he had done. Most of the critics and people tell you that it is not much to say. But now people have to take him seriously as an actor, because when I see it break after his wife dies in this movie, you tell yourself "this can not be JCVD, he is really capable of drawing a scene where he cries? "JCVD has never done this before and he did an incredible job on that. I am one of the largest Damme fans out there and that even shocked me. Must been acting some of the main classes or something because he was impressive in this film. This movie should have gone to theaters is really a waste, it does very well at the box office. |
| "After the death" is not a masterpiece. But it is easily the best Van Damme movie since "Hard target" and probably his best performance ever. I was pleasantly surprised to see that he does not know how to act. Especially in the scenes right after his wife's death. Of course, he's not going to win an Oscar anytime soon. However, his performance was certainly worth more than one direct-to-video release. Also, the direction was much better than I thought it would be. Phillipe Martinez has developed a pretty good package of a film. We get almost everything: firearms play, persecution of cars, nudity and a solid performance from Van Damme. But I'd like to have seen a little more history. It seems that the film is mainly driven by the action scenes. If only I had learned more about the characters, the film would have had to play the last one that would do well. |
| Anyone who's a fan of Belgian actor Jean Claude knows what kind of action to expect in one of his films. Well, you can expect a lot of action in "Wake of Death" - but with a twist. This film is one of the most violent of the Van Damme film to date. Made in 2004, "after death" Jean Claude is the latest film. He is aging, but very good. Still much higher in peak form. He plays a working man looking to spend more time with his family. When his wife, who works for the U.S. Immigration brings home a young Chinese immigrant, his father comes looking for her in the U.S.. Lots and lots of violence abounds in this action movie. Van Damme fan or no fan of Van Damme - this is a good movie. |
| This is not your half Van Damme movie. His action also no media / movie, either revenge. There is no doubt that this is a big step for Van Damme. His act is very impressive, in my opinion his best work yet and is still in great shape and you can do the kicking, no problem. The story is simple, but it gives you more then it should. We get to see the Van Damme character completely broken, and for that you feel for him, making only his revenge as sweet as it is for him, for you. Van Damme apart from the rest of the performance is quite good. There are also some great fight scenes and auto / motorcycle pursued. Another thing I noticed is that this film appeared to be a good budget .. 100 times better then derailed and then better in hell .. It's nice to see that the money is being pumped by Van Damme again. Anyway in general give this 10 per Van Damme high-performance, style action and the way the story was executed. Van Damme fan or not, try to check this one. |
