| No, I did not expect another "Pulp Fiction" (or even another "Reservoir Dogs" or "Jackie Brown"). However, as it is written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, starring Uma Thurman, I thought this was a rather cool movie. Well, this is not true at all. "Kill Bill: Vol. 1" is only 111 minutes of gratuitous violence. There is no story, not the right direction, no action, no fun. Of course, if you like to see fights absurd and many people are dead, you will find this a wonderful film. For me, is just proof that Quentin Tarantino fell. My vote: 3 out of 10. |
| In recent years have been astonishing for the film industry. Amazing in that never before in the history of the boat they have funded many houses and very talented so incredible pieces of junk. The only thing worse than this movie is the fact that people are supporting. The creation and success of this rubbish disguised as a free film is difficult and disappointing proof that our nation is being overtaken by the stupidity. Welcome to perplexed generation! QT: seek help. Also, please do not reproduce. Same goes for the fans of this film. Real fans of the movie: Instead of spending their money here, donate to genetic research. Perhaps the DNA scientists can unlock the 'stupid' genes and create a treatment that could be administered to the suffering in the next QT sample. ZERO 10! Avoid! |
| *** *** MILD spoilers What a dissappointment, especially after the impressive trailer. I have had several problems with this movie: 1) I do not care about any of the characters. There was no introduction of any of them (aside from the super-violent encourage the introduction of section Lucy Liu), so you do not understand or care about his motivation. Why none of this happens? 2) It lacks the dark humor of Tarantino's previous films, especially in terms of character sparkling dialogue (for example, Samuel L Jackson and John Travolta in Pulp Fiction), of which there was none. The dark moments (for example, the rapist employee of the hospital) were free and quite disgusting humor. 3) Swapping around the time it is an old trick that Tarantino worked brilliantly in Pulp Fiction, but adds nothing to this movie, except that he knew the final 5 minutes in the film. 4) I got bored. The latest battle lasts forever and becomes boring after the first people to get their limbs removed. The scenes where Uma Thurman Sonny Chiba persuaded to make her a sword to add anything more minutes of the film. Why was not edited and performed in a single, comprehensive, best film? So dissappointed. |
| What's good: -The musical score is on par with Tarentine soundtracks usually excellent. The action-choreography is great. -Tarentine 's sense of humor shows through ... a little. What sucks: -The dialogue is atrocious Tarentine when compared with other films. It's hard to believe is the same writer. -The plot is too simple. Once again it is not up to their usual standards. However, it's worth seeing, if only to say that you've seen. |
| I read with interest the previous review of Kill Bill Vol 1 and was surprised how insulting it must have been Quentin to read. We all expected it to be delivered in this film, effects, martial arts homage, even superficial characters seem to fit the story surprisingly well. I for a slope of the screen you do not want to end the first after killing ... When you have stolen all who admire and have not been afraid to admit, a little more depth originality seems to have skyrocketed in some peoples minds lose. Tarantino tried to honor his martial arts hero in this movie, I think it was done with a great deal of admiration in his style, story and character development. The final fight [water feature et al] was pure as in the Tarantino trick in the tail ... For my part, will be at the front of the queue when Kill Bill Vol 2 arrives at a theater near me. |
